NDP Media Corp, one of the largest mobile affiliate networks and one of the biggest app marketing agencies in China, has secured $15 million in venture capital funding. The funding will be used to expand the company’s technology team and R&D department in order to drive expansion internationally. YeahMobi, a subsidiary of NDP Media Corp, now boasts over 4000 affiliates, 600 direct advertisers, 4000 mobile subscription and app download campaigns and delivers 20 million conversions per month. YeahMobi has offices in the US, Holland, France, Brazil, Japan and China – in 2014 they plan to further expand and establish new offices in an additional 16 countries.
Recent examples of YeahMobi client work include an app marketing campaign for BOYAA, focusing on their popular Texas Hold’Em Poker App. After Texas Hold’em Poker was first published, many similar apps filled the app store – with gambling games struggling to achieve high volumes of downloads given the high competition. Despite the challenging competitive environment YeahMobi boosted Texas Hold’em Poker into the top five in the app store in numerous countries and attracted 968,789 users. Total downloads now exceed 3 million.
FBMagic, another subsidiary of NDP Media, focusing on Facebook Performance Marketing, has been working with many of the all of Chinese app companies including Kingsoft, 91 Wireless, and Changyou and is becoming one of the leading Facebook performance marketing platforms on mobile.
The staff at NDP Media Corp say “Focus on your product, we do the rest.” They are looking to expand and strengthen their distribution footprint by acquiring other assets and by building a mobile DSP with data management capabilities based on their own expansive data sets. Their aim is to become the number one choice for all global mobile content companies, focused on delivering sales, users or leads which eventually lead to higher profits for clients. With this recent injection of $15 million in capital, they may well be able to achieve this.
With the growing importance of app marketing in China we’re likely to see more and more Chinese app marketing and advertising companies making their presence felt in the global market with the likes of App Annie already making a big impact. This recent funding round suggests that they may start to become the acquirers and consolidators putting together truly international app distribution businesses.
