TikTok plans to launch a series of new promotional and advertising tools as part of the National Small Business Week.
The app maker aims to help smaller companies make better use of its platform to promote short video clips.
Last year, the company launched TikTok for Business which offers advice to SMBs and provided ad credit worth a total $100 million to companies.
Since then, small businesses like Artesana Soaps and Siders Woodcrafting have thrived on TikTok.
To help smaller business owners, users on the app can discover and then tag businesses using the #SupportSmallBusiness hashtag.
Business owners are encouraged to share behind the scenes experiences.
At the same time, TikTok is giving brands the opportunity to tailor their paid ads on the app to specific Designated Market Areas to reach customers in a more localised manner.
It also plans to host a four-part series on ClubHouse throughout May.
“There’s no doubt that small businesses enrich our lives. They are the coffee shop where you sit with your dog, the burgeoning artist who created your favorite t-shirt, and the woodworker who made your kitchen table. We’re thankful for everything they give us, and we’re proud to celebrate them this and every month. We hope you join us in celebrating small businesses — and don’t forget to share your latest #TikTokMadeMeBuyIt haul in their honor.”
