The Walking Dead isn’t just a popular TV show and comic, the mobile games are also immensely popular, with The Walking Dead: Road To Survival now having racked up 25 million downloads over the past year. This comes from development house Scopely’s CEO Walter Driver, in a conversation with GamesBeat, where he also revealed various other key stats regarding the game.

The Walking Dead: Road To Survival has amassed 25 million downloads

That high download number means annual revenue is high too, and Driver puts the figure at $100m, after the number steadily increased over the past 12 months. More than 30% of the active daily users pay for in-app purchases, and the average amount per daily player is often more than $5; and both figures are more than the industry average.

Walter Driver told GamesBeat:

“It’s a highly engaged audience. We created a game that feels really authentic to The Walking Dead universe. We tried to make it as authentic as possible and give people a chance to live inside this universe on a daily basis. That’s a lot more excitement for them than a show that airs once a week or a comic book that comes out once a month.”

Other, more fun statistics include the fact six billion zombies have been destroyed in the game. Scopely’s Walking Dead mobile title, Road To Survival, joins further mobile games The Walking Dead: No Man’s Land from Next Games, and Fear The Walking Dead: Dead Run.
