Snap has rolled out a new developer tool kit that allows brands and publishers to share their web content on Snapchat.
It’s called Creative Kit for Web and provides key functions that had only been available to mobile app developers before.
What that means for brands and app developers is that they can expand traffic within and outside of Snapchat.
Brands will be able to “Share to Snapchat” on mobile and desktop. The Snaps are fully branded and can take the form of a variety of creatives. Users can then click a link to follow content onto a website.
If you see a link on a desktop and click it, you will be shown a Snapcode that can be scanned using your smartphone camera whilst the Snapchat app is open.
The Creative Kit features can also be used for publishers to drive traffic to their Discover sections in the app.
Among the early launch partners are FabFitFun, Vice, Buzzfeed and Insider.
