Pinterest has been banking on users visiting the platform to get some inspiration for their next purchases for quite some time now. The platform previously added shopping ads and made it easier to link products to Pins.
On Monday, the company announced several updates to its Catalogs and Shopping Ads to make it even easier for brands to connect their products with audiences.
Among the new additions, Pinterest added “Shop a brand”, which features as a dedicated section beneath Product Pins. This lets Pinners explore a brand’s entire catalogue in more depth.
It also added personalised shopping recommendations for large categories such as style, home and beauty. Users can now view matching product ideas alongside the Pins they’ve saved by visiting “more ideas”.
Furthermore, brands are now able to upload their entire catalouge to Pinterest as part of a revamp of its Catalogs feature. From here, they are able to convert products into shoppable Pins. The newly designed dashboard makes it even easier to organise the feed.
Meanwhile, Shopping Ads have been added to Pinterest’s Ads Manager to be available on a self-serve basis. At the same time, shopping search now makes it easier to go from product inspiration to check-out.
The additions should make it easier for brands and retailers to reach consumers, whilst making it simpler for Pinners to shop and check-out.
