A young player in the mobile game space, MadBox was created as a result of the merger of two small game studios in Paris in July 2018.
The startup has since released a handful of games, with hit successes such as StickMan Hook and Sausage Flip ranking at the top of AppStore and Google Play charts.
Jean-Nicolas Vernin, co-founder and CEO of MadBox, told TechCrunch that the company’s secret is that it internalises everything and tries to “automate as many things as possible”.
“With this investment, MadBox will be able to diversify its offering towards new mobile game genres, while keeping its success formula based on automation & internal creative techniques,” Alven said in a released press statement.
“The next few quarters will focus on acquiring world-class mobile gaming talent to reinforce MadBox’s team.”
MadBox now boasts over 100 million downloads across its small portfolio of mobile games. The funding will help accelerate the company’s growth from a new generation game studio into “a new global industry leader”.
