Apple device owners can now download the latest operating system from the company. Although it has been available to developers for a while, Apple’s iOS 12 and Watch OS 5 are now available to the public.

Revealed at the WWDC 2018 developer conference during the summer, iOS 12 is available for all modern iPhone, iPad, and iPod models, while Watch OS 5 should operate on all Apple Watch models released yet.

Apple says iOS 12 is designed to be faster and more responsive than previous versions, with smoother animations, 40% faster app launches, and a 50% faster keyboard display. Even the shortcut for the camera has been sped up, with a 70% faster opening from the lock screen.

Other new features include an update to Animojis, called Memoji, a digital wellbeing system called Screen Time, grouped notifications, and Siri Shortcuts. Watch OS 5 introduces a walkie talkie mode, more fitness features, a Siri watch face, and integrated Apple Podcasts app.

The two new operating systems will come pre-installed on the new iPhone XS range, and the Apple Watch Series 4, which go on sale September 21.
