Music streaming app Pandora has added dynamic personalisation and discovery features with its New Pandora Mobile Experience launch in the US.
According to an announcement, the roll-out adds music, podcasts and other content for Pandora users.
As part of the launch, Pandora redesigned its mobile app to make it easier for users to discover content, music and podcasts and to personalise their favourite stations.
These updates are available to all users irrespective of whether they are free ad-supported users or Pandora Premium subscribers.
“The new Pandora mobile app connects listeners across all tiers of service to our massive selection of on-demand music and podcasts, personalized content, and unique audio entertainment like never before,” said Chris Phillips, Chief Product Officer & Head of Technology, SiriusXM/Pandora. “Now, all Pandora listeners can enjoy endless and effortless personal discovery across Artists, Stations, Playlists, Albums, Songs, Podcasts, and more.”
Called “For You”, the personalised discovery feed will recommend new content for users throughout the day based on their listening histories and time of day. “For You” also provides personalised recommendations based on mood, decade, and artist status.
Pandora says it plans to launch more than 35 different modules over the coming months within “For You”. Listeners can even give a thumbs up or down depending on the content suggestion
The popular radio app also added Pandora Modes which allows users to customise their favourite Pandora stations. For example, users can personalise their favourite stations by choosing to listen to “Crowd Faves” (songs that are popular with most listeners of a station) or “Discovery” (songs that are less frequently played on a station), among others.
The newly designed Pandora app now also sports the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen.
Pandora’s mobile experience roll-out follows company updates to its AI-driven Voice Mode smart assistant, Dark mode and integration with Siri.
