Where do you work in the app industry and what does the company do?
We do Mobile App Development as a Service. We have developed a Mobile Developer oriented Software Kit which can be integrated within any Mobile App to add Customer Engagement Tools from within the App. We work on the Developer side of the App Industry.
What are the big trends you see in the app market right now?
App Market is consolidating now with quality Apps focussed on Customers/Users. User Engagement has become higher priority now, nobody wants to be a one-hit wonder – and still fading away in the market. Enterprise Mobility is on the higher adoption rate. Everyone wants their own Mobile App customized to their requirements. Future trends hold true to move away from specific constructs to more generic usage of Enterprise Mobility.
What is the best thing about working in apps and mobile?
Its exciting to say the least. Interesting times, since iPhone created this App Industry by introducing the App Store, the growth has been phenomenal. Now there is a period of consolidation happening throughout the market making way for stable & consolidated developers to establish themselves as leaders.
What is the one thing you’d like to change about the app business?
User acquisition for more Consumer oriented Apps are a big challenge, because there is no specific improved App Delivery Mechanism. There is a trend that new or old, the Apps are getting lost in Stores. Only one way to grab attention from the User is to buy it. The trend needs to change. More virality should be enabled. Exposure of App Stores as APIs to get more visibility is off tantamount importance.
If you didn’t work in apps, what would be your dream job?
Creating products have been my passion all along. I have been a Product developer since I started coding. Apps are just one destination in this long journey. I would have certainly been working on something which addresses a Users Market. Type of requirement doesn’t matter, just the need to fulfil it matters for me.

What do you think of the Apple Watch?
I like watches as a great accessory, but not sure where Apple Watch is positioned – as an accessory? I am a fan of Communication Devices which become a part of who you are, and doesn’t become a distraction. If that’s Apple Watch I am for it.
