Instagram launches new shopping tools for brands

Just in time for the busy holiday season, Instagram has launched new shopping tools that make it easier for brands to redirect users to their products and make faster transactions.

The expansion means that Instagram users can now save shoppable posts to dedicated certain Shopping collection, which means that they can return to saved items later. This offers an opportunity to create to create a ‘wish list’ on the app.

In a blog post, the company wrote:

With the holidays just around the corner, we’re making it easier than ever to turn to Instagram for all of your holiday shopping needs. […] Whether you’re treating yourself or shopping for loved ones, these updates unlock new ways to discover and connect with the brands and products that inspire you.

Instagram added that it was currently testing a redesign of its Shop tab on business profiles so it would be easier to view all the product in a shopping post.

Users will also be able to shop in videos from brands they follow by simply tapping the shopping icon in the bottom left corner to find out more about a featured product.

Earlier this year, the popular photo app unveiled product stickers for Stories for faster and simpler product discovery.
