Disney+ has pushed TiKTok off its throne as the top app on the US and Canada App Store as of last week.
We’ve previously on early subscriber success of the Disney+ app. However, it remains to be seen if users are going to hang around. At $6.99 a month once the free trial is over, the subscription rivals that of competitors Netflix and Amazon.
It’s unlikely that everyone who’s signed up for the free 7-day trial will hang around.
Disney+ already offers 500 movies and 7,500 TV shows to binge on.
The demand for #DisneyPlus has exceeded our highest expectations. We are so pleased you’re excited to watch all your favorites and are working quickly to resolve any current issues. We appreciate your patience.

Adam Blacker, VP of Insights at Apptopia, added that subsequent roll-outs of Disney+ in Australia, New Zealand and Puerto Rico would likely be less spectacular.
He also expects TikTok to return to the top spot again soon as the popular short-video app continues to fluctuate in and out of the #1 position on the App Store.
