Demand for developers skilled in mobile apps and mobile websites is higher than ever before, according to recruiters Randstad Technologies. It states that between 2014 and 2016, calls for talented, mobile-specific developers grew by 104% year over year in the United States.

Employers found developers able to create mobile apps for iOS and Android highly desirable, along with those who create HTML5 apps, and are skilled in Java, JavaScript, and Angular. Randstad Technologies singles out the consumer goods, hospitality, and restaurant industries as being particularly keen to recruit.

Sarah West, Randstad Technologies managing director, said:

“People expect to be able to use untethered technology, and CIOs and IT managers are responding.”

However, it’s not just IT departments that are working on mobile-related projects, with sales, marketing, HR, and business intelligence all investigating mobile web design to assist with everyday business operations.
