App data and insights platform, App Annie, just announced the acquisition of app marketing data company AppScotch to extend its tech offering.

The move marks App Annie’s third acquisition within two years. In 2014, it bought app store analytics firm Distimo, followed by mobile app and usage data provider Mobidia in 2015.
On the back of a recent funding round, the deal undoubtedly strengthens App Annie’s place within the app economy as a data provider.

Founded in 2013, AppScotch is based in San Francisco and provides a host of app marketing data metrics for mobile advertisers.
App Annie enables app developers and marketers to track revenues, downloads, ads, user metrics as well as consumer engagement.
