WhatsApp now allows business owners to showcase their products as part of catalogues within the WhatsApp Business app.
The catalogue feature makes it easier for brands and retailers to showcase multiple products to consumers they are engaged in conversations with. It’s basically like a mini store window within the app.
WhatsApp said in a blog post:
“People love chatting on WhatsApp with their favourite small businesses, but having to exchange multiple messages and photos to get product information is tedious.”
Catalouges will act as a mobile storefront for businesses to share their products and for people to more easily browse and discover products.
During early testing, Agradaya, a herb and spices company in Indonesia, noticed that the tool made it much easier for customers to find out more information about new products, check out prices and view product information.
The catalogue feature is available for Android and iPhone devices in Brazil, Germany, India, Indonesia, Mexico, the U.K. and the U.S. WhatsApp plans to launch it in other countries soon.
