TikTok adds “Promote” ad option for mobile advertisers

TikTok is adding a Promote option to its advertising tools following successful tests over recent weeks.

The feature is similar to the Facebook Boost button which lets retailers and brands boost their posts as part of an ad campaign.

“Starting this month, Promote is available to help businesses reach more people and grow their community with their TikTok videos. With Promote, you can turn any organic TikTok video into an ad, directly within the app. You can start reaching new audiences, build a following, and drive traffic to your business website,” the app said in a blog post.

Promote campaigns integrate audience insight to assess whether posts reached their goals.

Interested advertisers can access Promote in one of two ways. Either by clicking on the video they want to promote or navigating to the “Settings and privacy” section and tapping “Business suite” to find the “Promote” button.

Once you’ve selected a video you want to promote, simply choose a goal for your campaign (more views, visits or follows), set a budget and running time.

The campaign is then approved and TikTok measures how well it performs.
