App Business

Messaging app Line has introduced an “unsend” feature to its chat app, allowing people to withdraw and delete messages sent within a set period of time. It represents a change in outlook for the company, which previously felt such a feature wouldn’t add to the user experience.

The feature is simple to use, and works on the mobile and desktop versions of Line. Messages can be deleted even if they have been read, and the feature applies to messages sent within 24 hours. Line has activated the feature for individual and group chats.

It’s not just text that can be unsent. Line also allows you to withdraw stickers, images, URLs, videos, voice messages, files, contacts, and location information. All that’s needed is a long press on the applicable message and to select the Unsend option.

Taking back messages does not cancel notifications on either phone, and a message will appear in the chat saying a message has been deleted.
