Mobile games generated around $6.6 billion in player spending across the App Store and Google Play in February 2022 alone, a decrease of 7.6% from the previous year.
The US was the top market for revenues, generating $1.9 billion or 28.6% of player spending.
Japan ranked second at 18.8%, trailed by China (17%).
Honor of Kings from Tencent was the top-grossing mobile game for February 2022 with around $225 million in player spending.
Some 95.2% of the game’s revenue came from China, followed by 2.5% from Taiwan and 1% from Thailand.
Sensor Tower also found that PUBG Mobile from Tencent ranked as the second highest-grossing mobile game in February at a revenue of $205.2 million.
Similarly, most of its revenues (64.2%) are coming from China, followed by the US (7.7%).
Other high-earners in mobile games last month were Genshin Impact, Candy Crush Saga, and Roblox.
