Kargo, the mobile advertising company, has partnered with the AMP Project to speed up mobile website download times.

The aim of the collaboration is to provide new and improved ad formats for advertisers.

These will be optimised according to AMP standards and provide better performance on mobile devices.

Specifically, the ads will be faster to download on the mobile web.

Among the first partners to offer the new formats including the Kargo Sidekick unit are Bauer Media Group and Leaf Group.

According to Kargo, the move follows requests by advertisers to provide improved options to acquire new customers on mobile devices.

The announcement follows Kargo’s takeover of Rhombus, an ad platform that embeds social content on publisher sites.
