Instagram has rolled out a Reels tab which will make it easier for users to share and discover creator videos. It also added a Shop tab that allows them to connect with brands and creators to discover products.
The company said the Reels tab was a way for people to share their creativity and find new audiences.
“Change is happening quickly right now, including how both of these groups use Instagram and engage with the world. This year, with the pandemic and much of the world sheltering in place, we’ve seen an explosion in short, entertaining videos on Instagram. We’ve also seen an incredible amount of shopping move online, with more and more people buying online and young people looking to their favorite creators for recommendations on what to buy,” it wrote in a blog post.
The Shop tab makes it easier for users to get inspired by creators and discover the products they love. They can instantly check out items and receive more personalised recommendations.
The Shop tab provides editor-curated products and features stoppable videos.
