India bans 43 Chinese mobile apps including AliExpress

India has banned another 43 mostly Chinese mobile apps over allegations that they infringed on its sovereignty, integrity and security.

The ministry of electronic and information technology issued the block last week Tuesday, which includes Alibaba Workbench, AliExpress, Alipay Cashioer, CamCard and WeDate.

A tweet read: “Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, GoI issued an order today under section 69A of the Information Technology Act blocking access to 43 mobile apps in India.”

The Indian government banned 59 mobile apps back in June and another 118 apps in September.

In the wake of the actions, China criticised India for dismissing an opportunity for the two nations to work together. Chinese foreign minister Zhao Lijian said that the issue marked a “discriminatory approach” and should be corrected immediately.
