Usage of gaming apps has risen 75% week-over-week, according to newly published data by Verizon.
With more people staying at home in an effort to curb the spread of the coronavirus that’s hardly a surprise. But according to AdColony, user behaviour on mobile devices has changed significantly.
The latest Covid Gaming Trends report finds that 46% of respondents are using their mobiles more outside of work.
Around 23% are playing new games on there smartphones. And gamers appear to be more focused with 35% focusing solely on their mobile games while playing (compared to 32% watching content on streaming platforms at the same time).
A third also said they played multiple games at the same time.
A total 858 million apps were downloaded during the social distancing week in light of COVID-19.
Card games (+21%), Word games (+14%) and Board games (+13%) all attracted some of the most notable app downloads.
