Mobile game maker Tencent is on a roll this year with five of its games generating more than $1 billion in revenues each.
That’s according to new data from Sensor Tower.
PUBG Mobile stood out at a revenue of $2.6 billion for 2020, an increase of 64% over 2019. It was followed by Honor of Kings ($2.5 billion), up 43% compared to 2019.
Pokemon GO by Niantic made $1.2 billion, which was 32% higher than in the year before.
Other titles that saw an uplift due to COVID-19 restrictions included Coin Master and Moon Active.
Although Monster Strike hasn’t broken through the $1 billion barrier just yet, it came very close at $958 million, up 2.8% since 2019.
Sensor Tower does not expect 2021 to match the extraordinary growth mobile games have experience in this year as life is likely to return to a more normal pace.
