The report, published by the Serious Games Association and research firm Metaari, says the category will triple its annual revenue to just over $800m in 2022, and continue on to $1b by 2024.

Early learning titles are singled out as one of genres most in demand, along with increased innovation and attention in augmented reality games. It’s also mentioned that location-based services are a key feature of future educational titles.

The statistics come from the “2017-2022 U.S. Consumer Mobile Educational GameMarket” report, created by Metaari, and it’s available for download here.
