The Disney+ streaming app recently surpassed $1.5 billion in consumer spending according to estimates from Sensor Tower.

Back in November 2019 when the app launched it generated almost $100 million in its first two months, marking the success to come.

In April 2021 Disney+ surpassed $1 billion in consumer spending which was 204% higher than during its launch month.

Much of its growth has been driven by the quality content Disney+ continues to add to its app.

Sensor Tower predicts that spending will likely to continue to grow on the back of additional content.

The app currently reaches around 250 million installs and saw over 64 million installs in H1 2021 alone, an increase of 28% from the previous year.

At the same time, Disney+ continued to drive up its ad spend in order to promote new shows and movies. It spent around $32 million on digital promos for The Mandalorian TV series in 2020.

So far, the company has spent just over $238 million on digital ads for Disney+, down 39% from 2020.
