The Chinese mobile gaming market grew 25% in the third quarter of 2020 compared to the same quarter the previous year.
It generated a total of $7.56 billion, according to data from Safe Betting Sites.
Mobile games dominated much of the market during the first half of 2020 as lockdowns meant that more people flocked to use mobile games.
They generated some 75% of the gaming industry’s total revenues.
Around 60% of the Chinese population are using smartphones making it a dominant market for mobile games.
Some 82% of gamers in the country use their mobile devices to play games.
China accounts for 25% of global mobile gaming revenues and by the end of 2020 it could increase to 40%.
The mobile gaming market grew almost 36% in the first half 2020 compared to 22% during the first half of 2019.
The number of Chinese gamers is also growing rapidly, projected to rise 16% to 523.5 million in 2020.
While Chinese games have long been restricted to local players, they are now attracting a greater audience internationally.
