China obliterates the rest of the world when it comes to the amount of time spent in apps. Data shows users in China spend 4.5 times the amount of time spent by its nearest rival, India. The astonishing numbers have been released by App Annie.
In 2017 Chinese app users racked up coming up to 225 billion hours on their phones, while India managed under 50 billion hours.

Communication apps, which includes social networks and messaging apps like WeChat, is the most popular with 36% of time spent in this category. Video players and editors come a surprising second with 18%, followed by games with an even more surprising 9%.
