A $3m investment into, makers of conversational knowledge systems for apps, has allowed the company to open its APIs up for free to developers. What’s more, developers that adopt the API will have no limit to the amount of queries send through to

It’ll continue to work with enterprise customers, and provide paid consulting services, custom speed recognition models, and tech support for its products and app implementations. The company says developers who want to use the speech APIs will find them easy to use, and promises a “voice powered interface” can be deployed in just five minutes. has made its APIs available to developers for free, with an unlimited amount of queries

“We’re still in the early days of voice-enabled technology becoming mainstream and the potential is enormous. Our goal is to empower every developer and company with the tech to make great conversational interfaces in-house.”

Aside from the API news, the funding will be used to further improve the learning and speech recognition platform. More than 2.3 billion voice commands have been processed by, and 8,000 developers are working with the platform already.
