PayPal is now available through the iTunes mobile app, and in more countries

PayPal has increased its partnership with Apple, and made its online payments system more useful and widespread in the iTunes store. The company has announced a wider launch for those wanting to use PayPal to buy content on the desktop, and for the first time, through the mobile app on mobile devices.

While iTunes had been an option for U.S. users on the desktop, it’s now available for users in Canada, Mexico, the U.K., Austria, Australia, Israel, Germany, Netherlands, France, Italy, and Spain. That’s a total of 12 markets.

PayPal can also be selected as a payment option through the iTunes app on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch now too. This is the first time it has been possible to pay with PayPal for mobile customers, and the option will be available in all the markets where it’s now available in iTunes.

PayPal says:

“This provides a secure and versatile payment method to meet the growing demand for digital entertainment. PayPal’s availability across Apple’s services further expands our vision of providing customers a variety of ways to easily make mobile purchases, such as asking Siri to make a payment using the PayPal app.”

Customers will be able to select PayPal as the default payment option, and to automatically complete purchases in the future.
