Interest in augmented reality apps is growing, particularly as virtual reality grabs more attention. Chinese AR game developer Tomorning Technology wants to capitalize on this, and has secured $2m in pre-Series A funding, in a round led by Longline Capital.
Currently known for the AR role-playing game Wonderland, which is available for both iOS and Android, the company wants to move beyond this, and provide a content production platform to other developers.

The intention is to allow developers to use its Creator production platform to make AR apps, then distribute them through the Wonderland app. Tomorning’s technology isn’t only for gaming, and the company sees potential in the service industry, and for its use in public spaces. It claims a 97% accuracy rate and a 0.1% false positive rate for object recognition.
