Integrated customer engagement platform Phunware has acquired Odyssey Mobile Interaction, which had built out a position as one of the new breed of “premium” mobile advertising service providers focusing on Rich Media and major brands. The move strengthens Phunware’s international presence, and its Multiscreen as a Service platform, where brands use a single login on a single platform to manage global campaigns. Odyssey has an impressive client list, including Google Nike, Samsung, and Mercedes Benz.
Alan S. Knitowski, CEO and co-founder of Phunware welcomed Odyssey to the company, saying:

“The Odyssey premium monetization platform and solutions will be immediately integrated into our MaaS multiscreen cloud engagement platform and will be a wonderful complement to our premium branded application portfolios, and audiences across our premium application customers worldwide.”

Chris Gale, CEO of Odyssey Mobile Interaction, said:

“Businesses everywhere are fundamentally restructuring their operations around digital platforms and data, and through this acquisition we are comprehensively enabling these businesses to more effectively segment and structure their data in a mobile and cloud centric way. Ready to deliver innovative user experiences to their multiscreen communities and audiences worldwide.”

Odyssey will remain based in London and Singapore, which will enable Texas-based Phunware to expand its European and Asian operations. According to Phunware, it provides the world’s only “full stack” engagement platform for multiscreen app environments, and is targeting the growing Internet of Things market, where it intends to reach the 50 billion connected devices expected by 2020.
