There were more installations of games made using the Unity game engine at the beginning of 2016 than at the beginning of 2015, according to data from the company, with China leading the way with the largest overall increase.
In its most recent Games by the Numbers report, Unity says there has been a 30% rise in installations during the first three months of 2016, reaching 4.2 billion through 220,000 games. In China, the number grew by 31%, nearly three times that of second place, the United States, with 11%.

All other regions in the top ten barely reached 5%, with most hovering around 2% growth, showing the impact of China’s mobile market on game installations. Brazil was placed third in Unity’s top ten, with 5%, followed by Russia with 4%.
Android was the leading mobile platform for Unity, and 81% of its games were installed on Google’s operating system. Apple’s iOS took 17%, a figure that has remained steady since last year, while Android has seen 7% growth.
