South Korean mobile ad spend to reach $1.25bn in 2016

According to upcoming research from South Korean digital media marketing agency, Nasmedia, digital ad spend in the country is set to reach $3.44bn this year with mobile ads making up 42.7% of that share, or $1.25bn. The Korean Digital Media Forecast 2016 shows South Korea’s strong adoption of mobile technology. The country has experienced a sharp increase in mobile businesses such as games, SNS and video due to strong smartphone penetration and a solid wireless communication infrastructure.

In addition, the research highlighted an increase in mobile video consumption. Social Networking Services (SNS) marketing experienced a rise in user interest, particularly on sites such as Instagram.
