Appcelerator acquired by Axway in “all cash deal”

App engagement platform Appcelerator has been acquired by digital business company Axway for an undisclosed sum, in an all-cash deal. Announced on January 18, the deal has apparently already closed and “the money is in the bank,” according to Appcelerator CEO Jeff Haynie, in a conversation with TechCrunch.

Appcelerator has been acquired by Axway, a French company that will integrate its platform into its own suite of services

Jeff Haynie, in an official statement, said:

“We’re thrilled to join forces with Axway, because our company visions are so closely aligned. The word ‘mobile’ has really become shorthand for the need to build great digital experiences across a range of devices, and the best companies achieve this by unleashing backend data and services to drive digital innovation. Our Appcelerator Platform and vast developer ecosystem, combined with Axway’s product portfolio, global reach and enterprise scale, means a single company that can power the digital needs of virtually any company in the world.”

Appcelerator is best known for the Titanium SDK, used by developers in 185 countries around the world. French company Axway has its headquarters in the U.S., and has a customer base totaling more than 11.000, providing everything from API management to analytics. Axway will add Appcelerator’s product to its own suite if services.
