Mobile development platform, Kony has recently announced a partnership with performance analytics firm Soasta, to offer a solution to optimise the performance and management of enterprise mobile apps.

The collaboration means that the company’s technologies will be integrated and combined to deliver a well-rounded, mobile DevOps solution to build mobile apps. The trend, to optimise products based on performance metrics and insights, has grown over the past few years. Now, mobile apps that were built through the Kony Mobility Platform “can be tested, monitored, measured, analysed and optimised for peak performance with SOASTA’s TouchTest, CloudTest and mPulse solutions for an integrated Mobile DevOps solution.”
In its Market Guide for Mobile Application Testing, 2014, Gartner, the industry analysis firm, notes:
“The need for automation in mobile application testing is high, and is being driven by agile development practices and a desire to drive quality and features based on user analytics. This pace, combined with a broad and changing device ecosystem, creates a test explosion that without automation will end up crushing all but the most trivial application efforts.”
Soasta and Kony are aiming to offer extensive mobile developer support that includes prototyping of designs, automation of functional testing, speedy development, back-end integration, deployment and user monitoring as well as mobile real-time analysis.

This aligns Soasta and Kony well for the future as they secure a place within a niche market soon to turn mainstream.

Soasta recently reported that its CloudTest community had exceeded 30,000 registered users in Q1 2015 and 1,600 consumers had completed more than 285,000 tests during the quarter. Meanwhile Kony announced a range of new partnerships including BBVA Compass and Localiza. The company recently gained a score of 3 out of 4 in in Gartner’s Critical Capabilities for Mobile Application Development Platforms report published in December 2014.
