Zyl has raised $1 million for its artificial intelligence-powered photo management app. According to a report on TechCrunch, the investment round was led by OneRagtime.

The French startup’s app resurfaces a user’s interesting or forgotten pictures and videos from their photo library. It then sends you daily notifications when it identifies a new ‘memory’, which you can then share with friends and family.

The company plans to use the funding to improve the app and reach millions of users. It claims that 38% of its users open the app regularly during five weeks or more.

Zyl previously raised $1.2 million in 2017 and at the time employed a team of 16 people.
