A dark mode for the Android YouTube app is being released, following the introduction of the same feature for iOS recently. Reports state Android YouTube users are seeing a notification after opening the app that the feature is no available.
Dark mode makes the YouTube interface easier on the eyes in lowlight conditions by reducing the amount of black-on-white content on screen. Instead, it replaces white backgrounds with a darker background, and inverts text accordingly.
The alteration applies to several pages, including the Settings, Search, and home pages. Dark mode may be automatically applied initially, but it can be switched off in the menu. Google stated the feature would eventually arrive on Android, but did not offer a timeframe. It appears the feature is being sent out to all users now.
