Yahoo has made app install ads available on the Yahoo Gemini mobile ad marketplace, allowing any U.S. advertisers with a managed account to promote apps across the Yahoo network. These outlets include Yahoo’s mobile websites, the Tumblr blog, and a wide variety of mobile apps including Yahoo Weather, Yahoo Sports, and Yahoo News.
Advertisers can use Yahoo Gemini to create app install ads
By joining the program, advertisers can reach Yahoo’s approximately 550 million monthly app users. Using a single dashboard, app install campaigns can be easily manage and monitored. The company claims the system is accessible enough to attract large businesses wanting to promote a branded app, down to single developers looking to find new users for a game.
Yahoo’s VP of product management, Enrique Munoz Torres, said:
“With app install ads available through Yahoo Gemini, in addition to the Flurry mobile app analytics suite, Yahoo now supplies brands and developers with many of the tools they need to help make their apps successful, including targeted user acquisition and best-in-class insights and measurement.”
Yahoo confirmed it was testing app install ads back in March, and this official announcement arrives after forecasts showed the firm could claim 3.7% of the U.S. mobile ad market in 2015, potentially overtaking Twitter. The news comes soon after Yahoo announced its first mobile developer conference, scheduled for February 2015.
