Yahoo recently hosted its Yahoo Mobile Developer Conference at the Marriott Marquis in New York where it unveiled in-app content sharing for Tumblr through its Flurry mobile developer platform. The feature enables customers to create content anywhere and make it searchable on Tumblr.

The addition means that developers can let users share their posts with Tumblr followers. Those who haven’t got the app will be able to download it seamlessly. App marketers then can track re-blogs, clicks as well as likes.
The new feature comes at the same time as Yahoo reported that time spent on mobile apps is growing, whilst that in browsers decreased by half. According to Flurry research, mobile owners spent 14% of their media time in browsers and 86%, compared to 10% this year.

Yahoo also announced Real-time Metrics through Flurry, which update app activity insights every 15 seconds. It further launched Native Video Ads for Publishers.
Wilson Kriegel, CBO, PicsArt, a launch partner for Tumblr In-App Sharing, said:

“We are thrilled to be using Tumblr In-App Sharing to allow our community to easily distribute their creative work made with PicsArt. Tumblr and PicsArt both attract creative people who love to make and share content. This integration will help users drive discovery through both communities.”

Flurry Analytics is now being used by 720,000 apps across two billion devices and Yahoo plans to invest further in its mobile and app ecosystem.
