App usage rose steeply during the first quarter 2020 given strict coronavirus pandemic lockdown measures.
New data from Adjust reveals that business app user sessions were up 105% during Q1 while installs increased 70%.
Gaming app usage rose 132% during the last week of March as the US went into lockdown and a growing number of people were looking for ways to entertain themselves.
Meanwhile, entertainment app installs were up 55% during the first quarter of the year as a growing number of users were viewing video content.
The report also revealed that food and drink apps saw notable games with 73% higher user sessions and 21% higher installs.
E-Commerce apps are also performing favourably although the install spike in installs may have been short lived and levelled out again toward the last week of March.
Overall, the report reveals that mobile users are finding ways to entertain themselves and try to make the best of the lockdown by using a variety of utility, gaming and entertainment apps.
