Aliza Knox joins Unlockd

Aliza Knox has joined rewarded advertising company Unlockd this week. She joins the company from Twitter where she was Senior Asian executive to help the company build businesses in Asia. At Unlockd, she’ll be overseeing the company’s global expansion as Chief Operation Officer.
Unlockd is looking to reach new smartphone users and enter new carrier partnerships to boost business. It already has deals with Boost Mobile, Tesco Mobile in the UK and Digicel Group in the Caribbean. Advertisers working with the company include British Airways, Uber and McDonald’s.
Knox explains:

“They are totally aggressive about the business and getting things done. But they also have the humility that this is a competitive environment.”

To date, Unlockd has raised $25 million with a Series B round coming up in the new few weeks. It expects to launch within three new markets over the coming six to nine months.
IAB hires Chris Kuist

The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) has added Chris Kuist to its team to make an impact on the companies mobile research division. He joins as Senior Vice President of Research and Impact.
Previously, he was VP of insights and innovation at The Weather Company and also held a senior role at Viacom Media Networks.
At IAB, Kuist will be overseeing research on media measurement and ad effectiveness to help publishers and brands understand just how to engage mobile audiences.
Randall Rothenberg, president and CEO, IAB, says:

It’s a new game that requires real-world industry experience and fresh ideas, and critical thinking — all of which Chris Kuist brings to the table. He will play a pivotal role in heralding the next era of media research, ensuring that IAB research initiatives deliver insights that have the power to drive more ad dollars to digital.”
