Twitter may soon follow the crowd and launch its own version of Stories.
The popular micro-blogging platform has just acquired Chroma Labs which was founded by Boomerang maker John Barnett in 2018.
Chroma Labs is already in use across Instagram Stories where it allows uses to choose from layout templates to post more beautiful Stories. Filters include retro and holiday-style filters.
But Twitter is not planning to take over Chroma Labs as is. Instead the company’s employees will join its other product and design teams.
The Chroma Stories iPhone app will continue to exist, the company confirmed.
Twitter did not comment on the terms of the acquisition after being queried by TechCrunch. Instead, it said that the deal was supposed to boost its talent and leadership.
The move could ensure that Twitter will be able to add some more stylish functionalities to its app.
