Snap has updated its Snapchat app to include a feature that lets users share images they’ve created in 3D.

It’s called 3D Camera Mode and adds effects such as depth, which move when users tilt their phones back and forth.

The feature can be used on iOS and the iPhone X or newer models. Although older Android and iPhones can view the 3D images, they won’t be able to create them.

The company also launched 3D Effects that users can swipe across in a Filter Carousel.

“Together they feel life-like and magical, bringing your world and experience to life in a way that’s a step closer to the real thing,” Snapchat said in a blog post.

The addition shows that augmented reality effects on social media are gaining ground. Around 70% of Snapchat users already add AR effects according to Snapchat. It’s likely that rival Facebook may add similar features soon.
