Snap has launched a 13-week developer programme called Yellow Collabs which the company hopes will motivate third-party developers to integrate their apps with Snap Kit – the set of tools the Snapchat maker provides.
The remote programme lets companies integrate more deeply with Snap and they can choose to integrate their apps with the entire Snap Kit platform or selected verticals like Snap Minis, Dynamic Lenses, Scan or Snap ML.
The app maker is now taking applications for the programme that launches in September.
“We hope this program can help bring in applications from companies that might not have been able to execute in a self-service manner,” Alexandra Levitt who heads Snap Yellow told TechCrunch.
Snap does not take any equity in collaborating companies or makes investments in them when they join the programme.
It’s all about establishing tighter partnerships, the company confirmed.
