Sizmek buys StrikeAd to improve mobile and programmatic offering

Open ad management platform Sizmek recently announced the acquisition of mobile ad tech company StrikeAd, in a deal worth $11.7m. StrikeAd’s DSP platform enables marketers to improve and measure their mobile campaigns globally.

Whilst StrikeAd will remain independent from Sizmek MDX, the platform will be fully integrated to offer an end-to-end solution which combines all the advantages of Sizmek’s capabilities. It’s a major step for Sizmek to step into the programmatic world without the need for partnership integrations.
Neil Nguyen, CEO and President, Sizmek, says:

“Mobile, a multi-device experience by its very nature, isn’t just another channel – it requires a radically different way of interacting with customers.  The addition of StrikeAd to Sizmek’s comprehensive mobile offering for marketers and agencies increases our addressable market and provides Sizmek with programmatic and mobile-specific expertise so we can accelerate these key areas of strategic focus for the company.”

StrikeAd confirmed that the company would continue to offer its clients full support and that they will be able to access Sizmek’s ad platform.
Alex Rahaman, CEO of StrikeAd, confirmed:

“StrikeAd will continue to support its clients with market-leading solutions as it does today, but it will now benefit from the global scale in sales, support, and services that Sizmek provides. By integrating StrikeAd into Sizmek MDX through DSP Connect, our mutual customers will benefit from workflow and data flow efficiencies that exist within the ad management platform.  This is a win-win situation for Sizmek and StrikeAd customers.”

Sizmek has been busy expanding its mobile and programmatic services. Last year, it bought Aerify to offer mobile tracking and targeting features to its platform. With the StrikeAd deal Sizmek expects revenues of up to $193m this year, up by $10m.
