Coral, a sexual self-improvement app created to educate and empower users, has launched and raised $3 million in seed funding. The round was led by venture capital investor Freestyle Capital and Tom Williams.
Founded by CEO Isharna Walsh, the free app curates a personalised, science-based mix of educational content, personal narratives and engaging audio exercises covering desire, pleasure and novelty. The entrepreneur is on a mission to help users improve their sex lives.
“We want to take you on a journey to more knowledge, confidence and connection,” she said. “I love diving, and Coral represents the idea that sexuality is a world to explore that always exists below the surface.”
Dave Samuel, founding partner of Freestyle Capital, added:
“I believe Coral is revolutionary. We spend a huge amount of time and money on bettering ourselves, and sexuality is an integral, yet overlooked, driver of happiness. We are excited to partner with Isharna and her team to facilitate sexual self-improvement, shift culture, and in the process create huge value.”
Available on Android and iOS devices, the Coral app offers a freemium model for limited access and a $59 per year subscription for unlimited access. In addition to personalised content and exercises, the app also boasts a community feature allowing users to share stories, join discussions and ask experts for advice.
Los Angeles-based Coral is advised by industry experts Dr Ian Kerner and Dr Lori Brotto.
