Reddit has announced that its monthly active users hit 430 million in 2019. That’s an increase of 30% over 2018.
In its December roundup, the company also shared that 199 million posts had been created attracting 1.7 billion comments and 32 billion upvotes. That’s some solid engagement on the platform.
Overall, monthly comments grew 37% year-on-year whilst views jumped 53%.
The platform attracts a wide variety of contributors. Year-on-year subscribers among the top 50 beauty communities rose 63% and 52% within style.
Skincare continues to be one of the most popular categories on the site.
Fast food and recipe sharing are also driving conversations across the platform.
Meanwhile, gaming communities saw a rise of 42% in subscribers year-on-year.
With so much user growth, Reddit has been busily expanding its advertising network. The company issued several updates to its video ads earlier this year and reported ad revenue growth of 55% in 2019.
