Two ex-Traveller’s Tales team members have opened their own studio, named Quantum Soup, in partnership with Welsh television channel S4C. Chris Payne and Ralph Ferneyhough both worked with the well-known studio on games including the Lego Star Wars franchise, since the early 2000s.

Quantum Soup is a new studio that will make games for various platforms

Chris Payne, managing director at Quantum Soup, said:

“We’ve been mentoring local talent as the northern arm of the Games Wales group for several years. It’s very exciting to be taking our own advice and starting a studio here to create our own games.”

Quantum Soup hasn’t announced any titles yet, but says it will be developing games for a variety of platforms. S4C has produced educational games and apps in the past, and is the only Welsh-language broadcaster in the world.
