Leanplum secures $27 million to bolster mobile product development

Leanplum, the mobile content management platform, has raised another $27 million in funding to speed up its mobile product marketing and development goals.

The Series D funding round was led by Norwest Venture Partners and Shasta Ventures, with participation from Kleiner Perkins, Canaan, and Launchub.

At the same time, the company announced that it had appointed George Garrick, a Silicon Valley veteran, as President and CEO, and Sheri Huston as CFO. Meanwhile, co-founder Momchil Kyurkchiev will be taking over as CPO.

Garrick joins with extensive expertise in consumer behaviour, ad effectiveness and data analytics.

Over two billion people used an app or website running Leanplum last year which means that the company facilitated 150 billion multi-channel messages.
