To help businesses navigate the difficulties of operating in times of a pandemic, Instagram has shared some top tips on how to use the platform for marketing and engagement purposes.

Declining revenues are having a negative effect on many businesses.

Instagram suggests that companies make use of tools such as Live more often where views have more than doubled in the UK last month.

The popular image sharing platform also recommends that businesses plan their Live sessions by using proper lighting, a good set-up and ensuring their connection is strong. In some cases, scripts may work better to engage with an audience.

Brands and businesses should also prepare questions and answers to address during a Live session.

Bringing a collaborator or partner into a session can be a great way to reach more viewers and make a Live session even more engaging.

Other features Instagram recommends brands to make use of include its Shopping tags and features that can be added to posts.

By using Stories, brands can share new products with users. Stories has the advantage of letting users swipe up to make a purchase directly.

Lastly, the app recommends keeping users updated via news and polls.
