Giphy, the GIF sharing website and app, will launch a redesigned homepage online that will include Stories-style GIFs. Once the homepage is live online, the feature will launch on the Giphy mobile app.
Snapchat, and subsequently Instagram and Facebook, popularised the Stories format, and Giphy has given it a new spin. The page will host curated GIFs that all relate to a single subject, ranging from reactions to celebrity news. These GIFs can then be shared elsewhere.
In addition to GIF Stories, Giphy will change the design of its homepage, with real-time trending topics, an improved search interface, and other new design features. Giphy says these will be available between now and the end of the year.
Giphy will initially create the Stories, but will open up the creative side for others by the end of September.
